Along with the fire house kit I got from Mike Fifer, was Northeastern's Dairy Barn kit. I chose to tackle the fire house first as it was, in my opinion, needed immediately, and it looked to be the more challenging kit of the two. That second opinion changed abruptly after I started the barn as it turned out to be equally as challenging as the firehouse! It, too, is a fine kit and went together nicely, as per the instructions. The windows and doors proved to be rather fiddly to assemble (I got one of the doors crooked). Like the stairs on the firehouse, the cupola on the barn appeared to be intimidating but, except for the copper roofing, it went together easily. As with the firehouse, I chose not to use the acetate for the windows and used Micro Kristal Klear instead. The only shortcoming with the kit (unless I read the instructions incorrectly) was the piece of "Z" rail included with which to mount the "working doors". The piece included was not long enough to have a rail over the ops of the doors as well as the bottom. Since I didn't intend to have working doors, I cemented them to the barn along with one piece of the "Z" over the doors. I left the barn rather pristine, rather than weathering. as I intended to have it on the property of a rather prosperous gentleman farmer who owned a rather impressive brick country home (see photo). In short this was another great kit to build.

Dick, the image isn't
