Outside of a few minor changes I might make, the track plan for the Missabe Junction Railroad is taking shape.
One of the very nice features of XtrkCad (which is a fantastic program once you sort of figure out it's idiosyncrasies) is that it lets you define rolling stock and actually run trains. I found this very helpful to figure out siding lengths, switch locations, etc.
Here's the latest plan:

I'm debating about adding a double-main through the yard area, essentially giving the yard an arrival/departure track. As well, I might play around with adding a few more sidings inside the loops in each corner.
Anyhoo, Should get things finalized up soon.

I too was thinking additional sidings in the loops might be good when I saw this earlier. Or maybe a siding coming off the top line on the upper right and heading to the left...?
