Today has been an incredible day here in South Florida! A high of about 79 degree, lots of sun and about zero humidity! We are now over our worst time of the year (weather wise) and entering the "good" time. (Although Hurricane Season does not end until November 30th).
In case you are not aware, South Florida (from about Lake Okeechobee south) is in the sub-tropics and really only has two seasons: Wet and hot (summer) and dry and cooler (the rest of the year).
Today I also have taken some time off from MRR since the write up on the Freight Depot has been done and I am now ready to start a new phase. This will be some additional work on Scenery Project 8 and writing the First Impressions for the Bar Mills Swanson's Lunch. Don't let the name fool you - this is looking like a pretty formidable kit!
Today, beside keeping up to date with what is going on at nScale.net (and an HDTV forum I also belong to), I have spent some time enjoying my three cats, reading the instructions for the aforementioned kit, and sitting out on the patio, in the sun, with a gin and tonic! (Oh yes, I also watched last night's Bionic Woman which I had DVR'd. Not a very good show I am sad to say!)
Not too many days like this one - I am enjoying it!
I hope you are also enjoying today - where ever you may be!

Bryan, I know I enjoyed the
Oh great, you guyz go ahead and gloat.
I am enjoying a yucky Canadian fall, complete with rain all week and getting colder and yesterday it snowed a bit (but didn't stick around). I am really not a big fan of winter. Fortunately as the temperature goes down our dollar goes up, so maybe I'll be ordering some new train goodies from down there
I'm hoping to finish some repaints of a GP38-2 and a bunch of coal hoppers this weekend. At least the colder weather lends more to indoor projects.
I spent this miserable
I spent this miserable Canadian fall day (4 degrees C, rainy) researching building techniques for structures by replacing three windows in the house - scale 1:1. I learned that the score and snap technique used for styrene does not work as well for cinder blocks...
The rising dollar isn't helping me any with the railroad as I keep having to spend all discretionary money on our abode...
Some Musings for Today . . .
Aaaah - the joys of living in the Northern Hemisphere as Winter approaches. . .
I spent a very profitable weekend - lots of sun, clear blue skies, Armistice Day celebrations, some of my model aircraft in an associated display, and an Air Display (Harvards/SNJ's) to top it off. I had a great weekend!!
Oh, and I also did some MRR'ing on a new 'Tea -tray' based on a local gold mining area (yes - an actual 'real' place!).
As I said, a great weekend!
Thought you 'Northerner's' might like to know that . .

Keep it up smarty-pants. We'll see who's laughing when we impose trade sanctions and cut off the world's maple syrup supply...

Some Musings for Today . . .
Trade Sanctions?
Maple Syrup?
Can't honestly say that I know any Kiwi's who would miss Maple Syrup or would be affected by any sanctions that Canada might care to impose on us - though we might miss Mr West and his fsh or NB sardines - but only for about 5 minutes . .
But thanks anyway - interesting suggestions

Brunswick Sardines
Yeah, those NB sardines (Brunswick brand?) come from a place half an hour from my house in Black's Harbour, NB, Canada. :) :)

Starting to sound like South Park - The Movie
The Alps has 2.5 meters of snow (that's about eight feet to some of you) and this Island may get very cold this year. But right now the sun is shining and the frost has melted...
Oh yeah:
...Should we blame the government?
Or blame society?
Or should we blame the images on TV?
No, blame Canada
Blame Canada...
Sorry; it had to be done. That song is rolling around inside my head! lol
