So after finishing the paint and decals for my BN b unit, I started brain storming for the chassis. after some time and thought, I decided the original trucks were just too ugly and out of scale, especially when compared to the GP18 that would be pulling it half the time. The decision was made to get different trucks, which then lead to why not power it if I'm going that far. So here I go. I decided to use a older style Life-Like chassis from a GP18, the wheel base is real clse to a F7. To make it work I used .030 styrene as a floor and using a nibbler tool(very valuable tool) cut three openings in the floor and glued the original chassis to the new floor. I mounted the motor horizontally to make room for a decoder(possibly sound?).
I have also started a study on downtown structures and their details. I will be posting more on my modeling techniques started from this study. The goal is to add details for a minimal budget using mostly scraps and scavenged parts and to realisticly paint and weather. Ther's one picture in my album showing my start. I also want to create at least 3 totally different by using one building kit.
