Tailfins. TAILFINS!

I want this SO MUCH. It hasn't been delivered in N yet apparently but my LHS guy let me play with the HO model. There's nothing on my layout that absolutely places it any later than about 1960, I could TOTALLY pull it off if it can make the turns.

And if it can't I still want it - I could always display it, I'm probably moving this fall anyway and there's always a chance I'll get more space out of the deal.

That'll look cool pulling

That'll look cool pulling up to a flagcrete and aluminum googie-mod station.  The real one's in St. Louis (out in the county, actually) at the Museum of Transportation.  Neat place to visit if you ever get the chance.  You can sit in a Big Boy and a DD40, they are right next to each other.

Or is it Supercar. Very very cool. I love the designs of that era, nose cones and tailfins on autos, trains and even speedboats.

If it ever comes out in n scale it would be a must have even though I'm modelling late 20s. I'd just run it at night when no one else was around.

Ridin'

One of the local zoo trains is supposedly a scaled-down replica - my dad takes my sister's kids to ride it fairly often. (He's also big into the Thomas gifts...sneaky!) I should go up and check it out, plus maybe there will be baby tigers to look at or something.

My LHS is taking preorders

My LHS is taking preorders for n, though I haven't quite had the cash to pull the trigger on it yet.

I can just picture the sneaking around, late at night, running anachronistic trains on the sly...maybe you could get a lookout! Laughing
