I've been absent from this forum and my beloved N-Scale hobby for quite some time. For the curious, it is because I am, what my wife has coined, a "Seasonal Hobbiest." That meaning, I feel more like doing crafty things in the fall (perceived here in South Florida in the most minute way... one needs to eye the calendar to be absolutely sure). I'm not quite sure what it is about Autumn and Winter that seems more appropriate to me about working on trains... vestiges of my youth up north perhaps... memories of cool autumn days and walking along mysterious half-hidden abandoned tracks.

LED there be light!

Well came home last night and my two packs of "warm white" LEDs arrived from the manufacturer. As I carefully tore open the envelope like a Kennedy Airport luggage gorilla, I noticed that the packaging was quite nicely done.
Each of the LED's is pre-wired with a nice 3" length from the leads and the resistor is already installed and protected with shrink tubing—ready to go, right out of the box.
What's the hold-up? Getting the LED out.

Waiting on the postman is not like it used to be when I was young. In those days, if you ordered something from a badly reproduced ad in the back of a magazine as a small boy, you were growing a beard by the time said item arrived from Mysterious Dark Warehouse Inc. located in Back Alley, Timbuktu.
