OBRY's Track Plan

OBRY's picture

Well, I finally have a track plan to share.
I did this with 3rdPlanIt - layout planning software I've used for several layout in the last few years.

The entire track plan is within the city of London, Ontario, Canada.
If I do say so myself, I think it's a good compression of the CN right-of-way and industries through the city.
GoogleEarth shows very detailed closeup photos of this area, if you want to see the prototype.

I'm interested in any and all comments and questions.

Cheers,

OBRY

OBRY'S Foam

Hi again,

After some minor delays, I was able to buy, cut & paint 2-inch pink foam.
I also painted the backdrop - the seams have almost disappeared and will be virtually invisible once the proper lighting is installed.

OBRY'S BenchWork

Hey,

Here are some pics of the benchwork!

Train Room Benchwork

This is the lower area (the train room). It's 5/8 plywood. The backdrop is 1/8 hardboard with a pre-painted white side. It bent much better than I expected.

Below is a shot of the benchwork on the opposite side of the stud wall (the furnace room).

Layout Room & Benchwork FootPrint

So here's the space I have to work with & the benchwork footprint.

Layout Room & BenchWork FootPrint

The lower space is a room 6' wide by almost 16' long. The bench work will basically be a 2'-wide shelf that runs both sides and one end of the room. In the adjacent room, there will be another 2'-wide shelf that runs the same 16' length.

OBRY - A New Layout

OBRY's picture

Hi everyone,

It's been the better part of a year since I've posted here on N-scale.net. It's good to be back! Hello to all my old friends, and hello to all you newish guys!

Last summer we moved to a new city and I'm now getting around to starting my new layout. My old one was progressing nicely until I knew we were moving. It was hard to tear it apart. But now I've got a new space & a new layout plan. I'll post pics to document my progress.

Cheers!
OBRY
