I posted a story last week from Bruce Petrarca of Litchfield Station about the affect of the MTH patent on some other manufacturers. The rumours are flying around the internet...
Well here is Bruce's amendment to the story.
"I made a slight error in my prior posting.
MTH has sent a "cease and desist" letter to QSI (and is suing them, I
understand).
The rest of the DCC community (Digitrax, Soundtraxx, Lenz, NCE, et al)
have received certified letters informing them of the patent approval.
Soundtraxx is doing the necessary work to assure themselves and their
lawyer that they are NOT infringing on any enforceable patent before
they ship the Tsunami."
I hope this helps dispel some of the rumours going around. There appears to be no reason for everyone to be worried about their DCC systems quite yet.
