Turntable wiring

I have no idea where to put this in terms of section...but this seems the most logical...

 anyways, I finally started assembling my turntable and roundhouse. I dug the hole, but have yet to build the kits up (just have the foundation and the pit placed). The kits are: 120 manual turntable, union city roundhouse; both by Walthers.

I'm running a DCC system, but I'm curious what the best way to setup the turntable is.... as I can already see there could be an issue with short curcuit.

My idea is that if I could install a pair of red LEDs, one on each side of the turntable bridge, to signify the 'hot' track. Have a simliar LED at main leadin track. And then have a switch that changes the polarity turntables track.

My other idea is to have a DC control branch out to all 6 bays (and however many outside tracks I may put) and then use switches to choose which track I'm controlling. Seperate DC controller would be used, as the Prodgy by MRC can't run DC.

 Or is there an easier way to do this? I'm mostly trying to figure out what the best way to run a turntable with at least 9 tracks not including the main.

DCC wiring is "that

DCC wiring is "that easy"...

If you don't want to use an auto reverser, this page might help.

Still more complex than using an auto-reverser.

Auto-Reverser

Your turning something that is quite simple into something very complex, esp with DCC.

Just wire your turntable tracks to the bus then wire your T/T bridge to an auto-reverser.

See here => http://tonystrains.com/products/dccspecialties.htm

Edit: Link fixed

Here's a wring diagram from DCC Specialties:

I know Mother named me after a railroad man, but it's too late now, I'm afraid. Much, much too late.

Phill, I didn't say it was easier than an auto-reverser... just an alternative if one didn't want to use an auto-reverser...
