How to build a Clinometer. Part 1.

What is a clinometer?

It is a device for measuring the slope of an incline or decline.

Most of us have incline/decline grades on our model railroads. Here is a simple device to assist you in building (or measuring) these grades accurately. I will show how I built mine and how I calibrated it. I used some .25" by .25" balsa strips I had laying around for the main frame, but you can use any materials you have laying around collecting dust.

The frame is a simple box shape that is 4" wide and 6" high.
