Rebuilt Maxi IIIs

I have heard of, but never seen, of a rebuilt Maxi III with only 4 cars due to an accident. Does anybody have any pics or know where to find them?

I have a damaged Maxi III set I got on Ebay and would like to model such if I could find a prototype photo for it.

Bob,

 You'll usually see just about anything imaginable, so I would go for it as is until you find your evidence. Your proposal sounds very logical, as I cannot see a mechanical reason to keep the entire set OoS until one can be repaired or replaced, providing it's not an end platform.
