Here is what I was finally able to do (railroad related) today. The Glacier Gravel Building is built stock , I am just bashing the conveyors. Got to move to the other side now. You will not see the backside from the layout front , just the rear conveyor.

Nice work as usual, Mike.

Nice work as usual, Mike.  Did the basic conveyors come with the kit?

New turnouts in yard and moved caboose tracks

Between the caboose tracks and the bridge over the river there will be a curved Icing rack and building , plus a small yard office at the caboose track for incoming crews and outgoing cabeese. Here is the latest from yesterday. I got the turnouts in the yard and added feeders to help with switching reliablity.

Thanks , Mike

Layout/Yard design question

View of Mike Fifers Yard from the Throat end

I'll admit to being totally envious. I can only dream of bringing my yards up to the same level of (realistic) detail while maintaining satisfactory operation.

I admire this view in particular (not that all of these images aren't as equally  impressive)

A question: I don't know if you've ever posted a trackplan. Are any of these yard tracks (marked by red dots) through tracks? Do they continue on to the rest of your layout beyond the far end of the yard as we view it in this image?

Track plan

Take a look at Mike's site... there's a sketch of the layout track plan among the images...

Somewhere, there's even a video tour.

That gravel company
That gravel company building looks "awful" - I like the weathering very much!

 Even in Hungarian

Surprised

Even in Hungarian language, I couldn't describe my thoughts better about these pictures. What I see is somewhere over marvellous and wondrous.

Thanks All

I made some good progress on the ACT this weekend. I put in a supplimental refrigerated air conditioner (seen in the picture) as well as getting all the ballast done and some minor ground cover in Valle Rojo. Man I hate to ballast!
