Hi everyone, I recently bought a can of Sista expanding foam, the type used to fill gaps, tried it to create stones on a riverside, and since I had a lot leftover (it sure expands and goes a long way) Tried spraying  the foam over some hills I'm making for an upper level in my Two valleys. the results seem to be good, after painting it with an earth tan colour, sifting plain dirt and  salting  with Woodland Scenics Fine Turf and Clump Foliage Underbrush. I'm sure this must not be new but I have not read about it.

Now THAT is an interesting idea!

Now THAT is an interesting idea! I have a can of the type of expanding foam that cleans up with water, as opposed to the other stuff, which I call "dog poo in a can" because it sticks to everything. Anyway, this water cleanup stuff would be better to work with, potentially, due to the easy cleanup but I don't find that it works like I want for insulating purposes.

In the construction

In the construction industry we use large cans of polyurethane expanding foam with a gun applicator. It is totally controllable, fast-drying, and the cans are a lot cheaper by volume. I love my foam gun- use it all the time; much less messy than those stupid cans that dry up if you don't use the whole can right away.

Thanks for the landscaping tip! I've never thought of using it in this way before, but I think it would be great. I think I'll try it...

Expanding foam
Thanks for the comments, I believe this foam is the dog poo type, it comes with a straw type spout and is controllable, I'll place some pic's in the gallery, under the name Expanding foam Landscaping
