Intermodal Pricing.

For the sake of being New to N scale i have one Question so far about intermodal.

 

Is it me or does it seem Quite Expensive? Is Intermodal relatively New for N scale?

I certainly don't feel like

I certainly don't feel like I overpay for the intermodal equipment I buy.  It costs me something around $20/platform on average to buy the car and load it iwth containers.  This is about the same price I pay for a high quality boxcar.
