I just put up the bench work for my new layout and I know I saw in a recent MRR an article about printing out a track template to put onto your benchwork to make sure everything fits correctly.  I'm planning on using Atlas C55 track.  All I want to do is print the track to put out to see how it'll fit.  Anyone know how I can do this, or what MRR this article was in.  Thanks

Track planners...

Joe,
You should get more answers soon, but one way is to put your plans in something like Atlas RTS track planning software and print it at 1-to-1 zoom to get a full size scale tack plan.  It splits it up on multiple sheets of paper.  That is unless you have a very small plan, or a printer that prints on very large paper!

Thats the way I'd do it.
Thats the way I'd do it.  Just print it from RTS in 1:1 and get on down the road.

Ok, I'll have to look into

Ok, I'll have to look into that.

I'm actually building a close design to Bernard Kempinski's DaniCa Forest Products (MRR, Realistic Layouts, Industries you can model, page 62) geared for my Maine Central.  I'm not the greatest when it comes to track planning and I just moved into a pre WW2 apartment in Brooklyn, NY so I have limited space.  This layout seemed like it would fit perfect into my livingroom/computer room/entertainment room/etc etc room shared with my girlfriend; anyone who has ever been 22 and out of college and lived in NYC knows what I'm talking about lol.

But back to the point.  Maybe if I just take the MRR tack plan and photocopy it and blow it up it'll work.

If you already own some

If you already own some track (or know someone who does) you can lay them on the scanner glass (or copier) and make 1:1 copies. Print as many as you like, cut them out, and tape them down. If you are using flex track you really only need turnouts.
