Bear Cubs Ride the Rails!

Bearly Hanging On

I wanted to show y'all my latest waste of an afternoon, my scratch-built power shed, but I thought it would be more fun this way.

The story hearkens back to one I read on CBC.ca almost a year ago: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2007/06/13/hobo-bears.html

The power shed is all paper at just 4 feet deep, 8 feet long, 6 feet high in the front, 8 feet in the back:

  • cereal box cardboard, painted white
  • silver paper that I rubbed over a sheet of "roofing" styrene for the roof, then painted some "rust" paint on
  • scrap of 0.040" styrene for meter box, painted gray
  • bit of finishing nail cut and sanded flat, through a hole drilled in the meter box
  • doors are a scrap of printer paper that I folded to make a crease, then glued on

Mike

Now that's my sort of modelling!! (The bears weren't too bad either (LOL).

Thanks for sharing - and for the story. Wildlife railway enthusiasts - incredible.

Good work,

That is being creative by making good use of what's laying around, and coming up with something new, and good looking, great job,

Lazaro
