Just received the two Republic Locomotive Works wood laser bridge kits today.  I'll be adding them to my task list. As a new laser kit modeler (2nd one) I wished the instructions were a little more than the one page provided.

However the kit looks fairly straight forward, famous last words Cry.  Here are two pictures of the kit package and the instructions.

Any suggestions on weathering the kit will be welcomed.

See ya

Ron

Ron, kits with minimal

Ron, kits with minimal instructions can be a real pain! Looking at your pictures and the RLW page for this kit makes it seem like a pretty straight forward one (as you say). Just study whatever instructions there are and the pieces really well and start slowly!

When gluing the basic structure together make sure that all 90 degree angles are just that. 90 degrees! Dry fit everything first to be sure you don't get any surprises. I've had a few kits where the pieces were not "quite" the right size (even though laser cut)!

So far as painting goes you will be trying to represent weathered metal (I assume) so you might need several coats of paint to achieve the desired effect. I would suggest multiple colors allowing them all to show through. Weather with a black wash and some dry brushing of a rust color!

Just my thoughts; I am sure others have much more detailed suggestions!
