I found a cheap DPM building on flea-bay (Goodnight Mattress Co.) and thought it would look good as a moving company with apartments over it.  So, I bought it and also bid on a pair of Con-Cor moving trucks.  Found out why it was cheap.  The guy had slapped a coat of red paint on it, and must have gotten the walls in the wrong order for one story section, so he just sort of carved the overhang to fit. Also the building wasn't square so I had to pry it apart and re-glue it.  Aside from that, it didn't turn out too badly.  All I really did was repaint it, add a fire escape and a couple of other details from my junk box.

The only thing I really did that was a little unusual was to use ballast on the roofs, held in place with hair spray.

I really have to stop putting buildings together until I know where I want to put them! Now, I wonder where this will fit?

It goes in the grungy part

It goes in the grungy part of town near the bus station and the rail-yard near the furniture factory.  With six foot chain-link fences and stuff.  Tongue out

You're right on the money,
You're right on the money, Charles.  The inspiration for this was a building in Lebanon, PA. The left side has ballast right up to the sidewalk from the NS main line. It has an addition with a laundromat, and yes, everything but the street frontage is surrounded by a six foot chain link fence!
