I finally got around to adding ground cover and trees to the opposite side of the mountain from Coalbrook.  This area around tunnel #2 had been roughed in for some time, then sort of neglected while I did the mine and town on the other side.

What a difference from 17 months ago when I took some early construction pictures.  The first shot was taken on 4/7/07.  The second is the same area taken today.  The third picture is the bend in the river with a trio of MP15's drifting downgrade toward Bridgeport, and the big Alco and GE on the high line headed for St. Barbara.

Wow.

I'm not sure the last time I even noticed you posted a layout photo - needless to say - Bam: right between the eyes...

Really, really very nice.

High Quality

That is truly high quality work Jimmi! I love your landscape- very convincing rocks and greenery. I believe you are a fellow Pennsylvanian, and your landscape very much resembles the state. I hope to create a Pennsylvania-looking landscape in my very-slowly-progressing layout, and you have given me renewed inspiration. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I could ask a lot of questions, but for now I'll just post two:

I like your backdrop very much- is that an available photo background?

What is your technique for creating the water in the river?

Steam-n...Some Answers

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Steam-n,  the background is hand painted. The near mountains are a light green and the distant mountains are the same paint with a little grey added to darken them.  Actually it looks pretty good in the photo only because I had a work light on in the background.  I wish it looked that good in person.  The river is just painted plaster of Paris with several layers of tinted Enviro-Tex resin.  This also looks better in photos than in person, but I'm happy with it.

BTW, I live in Lebanon, PA.  How about you?

PA & Etc.

Well, whatever you're doing for water and backdrop, keep it up, it works well! I was espescially curious about the backdrop, because the mountains look very Pennsylvanian to me.

I live in Stroudsburg, northeastern PA, Pocono Mountain region, Monroe County.

Hope to see more of your work soon!

Beautiful!!

That is some truly beautiful work, very artistic.  And only 17 months ago, I can't even keep a layout going for that long. I'm always seeming to tear down and start over again and again Embarassed.
