Is it me or is this site seeing less traffic lately?

Saturday afternoon 4:20 pm and 3 people are on here. Whats that?

Sometimes it seems like hours before anything new is posted.

I haven't had much time to

I haven't had much time to post anything worth reading lately, myself, and I can think of a couple of other people who are posting less these days. It's just the time of year; hard to ignore spring! (...if you're north of the equator right now.)

It seems to come and go... a few nights back there was quit a bit of traffic, but today it's real quiet... I guess good 'N' scale folks are working on their layouts.

It's a sunny weekend in Ohio and some of us are out playing with real trains. The little ones can only take you so far after all.

I am around 2-3 times a day, but I don't post very often. I have been out riding real trains, and playing with mine.

I felt the same thing

I felt the same thing lately.  Glad to here at least some others have found the same thing.  I hope it picks up.  It's great to get new blood with new ideas.

site down last night

I tried to post a comment last night and the site was doing funny things? oh well! I have been busy painting the bathroom, getting the boat ready for the season, and as soon as I finish that and the new soffit under the addition, maybe I'll be able to staart working on the benchwork for my very first n scale RR! then again if the stripers or the weakfish start running or I'm up north and doing some trout fishing that will cut into my time for this new hobby. Maybe my wife is right - too many hobbies!

I have also noticed the drop in the number of posts recently but I believe it is pretty much to be expected. There always seems to be a drop in posting activity during the summer months (starting around now). Within this (pretty regular) cycle there are many ups and downs.

Nothing really out of the ordinary! Just keep checking and making the odd post yourself!

I have several model projects that are not far enough along to bother talking about.  I also had quite a few things to repair around the house that were waiting for spring weather to arrive.  Add to that the yard cleanup and mowing.  I assume that a lot of our members are also engaged in spring clean-up/fix up chores right now. I'm sure things will pick up.

Spring and summer are

Spring and summer are always slow times on the site. Most folks are into outside projects and hobbies, Also vacations start to slow things down a bit.

As an inside hobby MRR is more of a fall and winter time hobby.  Except for us old retired foggies  Emotions who now have time to do it all

See ya

Lot less going on

I just chalk it up to weather becoming much nicer ,temperatures rising above 32%F and people wanting to get out and do the yard work around the house / Spring clean up .

I'm sure it's mostly the time of year, but since the subject has come up, I find it harder to find the new posts  since the last major upgrade. I log in every day, and look at the listings on the opening page, but frequently the pickings are pretty slim...or 1 posting will have made 3 or 4 of the catagories (like the current Atlas GP15), which cuts down on the choices. On the rare occasions I have time to look thru the forum listings, I find it very tedious searching for the new content, and frequently just move on to other things. Maybe I'm missing a search option or something, but  maybe others are finding it harder to find the new postings too, and we"re in a downward spiral where fewer people are posting because they can't find the new material...so then there's less new material...then there's fewer people responding to LESS material....then there's even less material....and on it goes. Just a thought...it seems I used to spend a lot more time here looking at posts than I do now.

Dave, after logging in I go

Dave, after logging in I go straight to Recent Posts (link on right of page under your ID). This lets me see all the new posts (Forums, Bogs, Images, Feeds, etc.) in one handy chronological list! You can then pick the items you want to read! (I end up reading most of them).

If you haven't tried it (and it sounds like you haven't), you should!

PS You can also go straight to the Recent Posts page by logging into www.nscale.net/tracker

+1 on that. The only way to view. Only problem I've found reading the site that way is you don't always realize what forum things are posted in, which can make it harder later to find something you recall reading here. Especially if it was a blog post. On the whole, however, I like the Recent Posts feature. I also highly suggest the "YOU POSTED IN THE WRONG FORUM!!! How DARE you?" squawkers to read the site this way. It will greatly lower their blood pressure. Laughing Laughing

(note to adminisrtrators: see the smileys? They mean that statement is meant to be taken tongue in cheek.)

Didn't you know that moving posts is much more fun than reading them. SealedLaughing
