No response to e-mails

Is it just me or do others out there have a problem with getting a response to e-mails to on-line vendors.  I don't do it a lot but a few months back I e-mailed a question to an online vendor and never got a response back.  I e-mailed them another question a few weeks later and once again never got a return.  Last week I e-mailed two different on-line vendors and more than 7 days later haven't a response from either one.

I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus but I just figured with all the online competition these folks would be very anxious to answer an e-mail.  Maybe they just get overwhelmed.

Is it that these vendors are too busy to read them all?

Is the best way by phone?.

My problem with it is all three of these vendors I have had great service from in the past.  All three have been spoken of very highly on this forum.

Is there something I am doing wrong as far as a proper way to ask a question?

Just asking....I will probably just try to get a hold them by phone.

Are you using a Hotmail,

Are you using a Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc email account?... if so it may be getting caught in their SPAM filter.

I quickly scan through my SPAM folder  (daily) before deleting them, and sometimes find valid customer emails... I'm sure not all make time to do this, and may miss emails.

I had the same problem with a local hobby shop the second time I emailed them, and when I special ordered something. I question whether buying from them online would be of any use.

I'm just using Qwest.  It

I'm just using Qwest.  It might be an answer though.  It just seems so strange to have the same thing happen or not happen three different times from three different vendors.  That's why I really didn't want to name anyone in particular since I might in fact be just something similar to what you stated Bryan.

AROC, the problem may be on your end.
If they have replied via email, and you did not add them to your own 'Contacts' list, your spam filters may be blocking their answers.

I've thought about that but

I've thought about that but I usually get a SPAM list anytime someone tries to send what my computer thinks is SPAM.  I can than view it or delete it if I want.  It might be that some doesn't even make it that far.

Thanks for all the help.

Hi Eric......stopped in
Hi Eric......stopped in Deerlodge for a few minutes on my way to Missoula sunday to snap a few shots of Milw. E70......just realized I didn't have any digital shots. My guess is that it's a time issue for a lot of vendors....especially the busy ones. I know how long it takes me to write even a quick response to an e-mail.....It would be nice if they could respond, but I'm sure most of them could spend hours if they tried to answer everyone. Even when I e-mail Jim's Junction with an order, I seldom get any response......the order always gets done, but I never get any response back.....I just plan on picking my stuff up next time I'm in Billings, and I've never been disappointed. It would be nice if we could "talk" to vendors more easily, but if I have to choose between no responses, or higher prices so the vendor can pay extra help, I'll take it this way. If I have a question specific to the vendor, I now call and get a real person, or if the question is about a product, I e-mail the manufacturer.......they seem to be better about responding.

I had a problem with an
I had a problem with an eBay seller who kept emailing me about not responding to his emails. I had to get his phone number and land-line him. He started getting HOT with me untill I quoted his emails he had sent to me, back to him. I quoted replies I had sent and asked what the problem was. The guy had a HEAVY-DUTY SPAM BLOCKING program hooked to his email account and the Spam Program WAS BLOCKING ALMOST ALL OF HIS INCOMING EMAIL!!! He had started to file a Non-Paying-Bidder complaint with eBay about me. He had said he had to do this several time before. I told him that he needed to redo his Spam Filter.

I, like Bryan, double-check
I, like Bryan, double-check my spam folders before deleting the contents therein; about 50% of the time there's a valid email that gets caught for some reason or another.

I'll check out my spam

I'll check out my spam blocker.  I guess you have to take the good with the bad.  I went ahead and phoned the one vendor in particular that I needed to get a hold of reguarding a pre-order.  Guess that's probably what I will need to do in the future.  It's not a real big deal I just need to be prepared.
