Well it appears that nscale.org was hacked out of existence a few days ago. Not sure what the full story but our condolences go out to them. Just wanted to let everyone know that we keep a pretty good eye on the traffic around here. Of course IP addresses are logged, and my hosting provider is pretty good about helping out too. Bryan and I a very dilegent with the backups so if anything were to happen, we should be able to get things up and running pretty quickly. I am considering some changes that might make things more secure. One of the changes may be to ban the use of non-isp-based email addresses during registration. That change will take some thinking on my part. Anyway, if you see anything strange, no matter what it is, please let me know. We could use everyone's help in fending off hackers.

Hackers and ModelRailroad related websites...

Do we know what website it was that received the computer related hackers?  I sure would really dislike it if this site received the Hacker(s). My question is to the administration of this website going to be taking protective measures to prevent this from happening here?

Tom

hackers(computer)..

As for computer hackers I find them to be highly inconsiderate, isn't computer hacking in this country U.S.A. including other nations, century illegal and punishable by a jail sentence if caught? How is it that some have to take the fun away from us model railroaders? And yes it only takes one to do that...

Why on earth can we not

Why on earth can we not mention another N scale board without having it's name automatically replaced with *another N scale website*?

We all know they are there! Are we lacking some sort of self esteem that prevents us from mentioning them by name?

Let's try it this way: Based on the title of Todd's past, the board in question is nscale dot org! And as I said, they appear to be back up! Tongue out

I too was wondering about

I too was wondering about the alarm over a 4yr old post Surprised

When Todd initially set the word filters, he had a few extra in there that may have been more based on his humour than actual necessity.
