Default Installing MT Couplers on Atlas Engine

I just bought my first engine.
It is an Atlas GP-38-2 with decoder installed, and I also looked up and bought the Micro Train coupler conversion kit.
My question is, Are the instruction supplied with the coupler clear and easy to understand, and I was also wondering, How difficult is it to install the couplers to the engine.

    Thanks

    Default MT couplers

Which couplers did you purchase? If you purchased the preassembled 1015 couplers, they should go on just fine.

They are easy to install. Study the pictures in the blown apart engine diagram. You will see a three pronged clip inserted to hold the coupler in place. Pull this out with tweezers or needle nose pliers. Discard the brass "spring" strip and rapido coupler. Insert the MT coupler so the hole in the mounting box is over the center hole in the engine body and reinsert the three pronged pin with the center pin going through the coupler. Takes longer to type this out then it usually takes to do the operation.

Just be careful when removing the shell, its easier to add the couplers with the shell off the frame. The band behind the coupler should be adequate to retain the coupler in position once installed.
