Well when I visited Hong Kong in the 1970's all boys schools had walls with iron railings pointed to the inside while all girls schools had them pointed out. So I don't know.

I don't know why it took me so long to discover this thread. Obviously my powers of observation have been impaired.

So here I am with my wife Kathy and faithful companion Reno on a hike to Ptarmigan Lake (elevation 12,150') by Cottonwood Pass in Colorado, 2006:

And another hobby. Just north of Ute Pass with my pal Galiano, a Peruvian Paso - great trail horse, smooth, no bounce, no trot:

Back in '96 & '97 Kathy and I took a year off to go cruising. East coast and Bahamas. Here's our home, a 31' Columbia sailboat, anchored off Hawksbill Cay, Exumas, Bahamas.

And finally, a photo that involves trains. At the Bahnhof in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, in August, 2014. Nice trip - Germany (Schwarzwald), Switzerland, Austria, Germany and.....Ireland. A little more than 3 weeks -

I've got my backpack and Kathy's carry-on, which is all the luggage we take for 3+ weeks in Europe.
    Cheers!

They're an interesting animal - all muscle and similar to the Woodchuck, behaviorally and environmentally.

Solid as a rock... hitting one with your car is not pretty (like hitting a rock of the same size).

Looks like a cross between a cat, a rat, and a piece of firewood.

    Kinda cute, really.
