Looks like some lucky person is going to have moving traffic on his layout. Nice !!

I ordered an air brush compressor with a tank and moisture trap.

Here it is. I'm not amazed by the driving capabilities of this model. It performs very nicely without the bus body (so just the mechanism itself). But as soon as the body is on, it's not that great. The back part of the bus in particular does not seem as flexible as it should be. Perhaps it needs some tuning...

How do these look in person? I was just looking at these to slowly start changing out my less detailed 53s.

    First 2017 purchases
3 Atlas Xtra pine trailers from Metro
Kato Northern Pacific NW2 switcher, which will be slated for a CN paint job down the road
2 Atlas GP38s in GT paint, I have been wanting these locos for some years now, finally Atlas did a run
Plus decoders for all 3 locos
This haul will put future purchases on hold for quite some time

After doing some looking I'm thinking a KATO starter set just to get something up and running. Maybe a DCC board for the engine too.

While I did get some new rolling stock (a pair of Wheels of Time 80' Baggage-Horse-Express cars; ordered some time ago, so that doesn't count), I have a great need to start the electronics under the layout being constructed. Since I had already decided to go new tech and use LCC for accessories, I also decided to go all-in on a new switch machine, the MP5. Seth at Model Railroad Control Systems did me good with pricing on an order of 50, being shipped in two lots.

A comparison of the reigning king of the hobby and the newcomer. I had some locations with 3 levels, and would have needed to skylight the sub bed to accommodate the tortoises in a few spots. These should work fine at less than an inch tall, and with the quick wiring connectors included, made it a sell for me. This weekend will tell the tale as I go about installing and testing them.

Hopefully the most important purchase of 2017. Everything I've read highly recommends it.
