    Default Imrc gp10?

Is this a stealth announcement or have I just not been paying attention?

    Nice catch.

Great to see IM really moving forward with offering HO items in N.

And dang it, another hit to the wallet.

Someone caught the flyer on their table at the recent Trainfest in Wis.
They had flyers laying on their table and that was pretty much it until they posted it.
Someone else said something about them being posted on their facebook page?

But you're right, it's kind of Stealthy.

The flyer says "New Tooling" shell and chassis.
So it makes me wonder if they'd make a new chassis or would they use an existing chassis like Atlas or LifeLike?

I for one am looking forward to getting a couple of these unique locos.
While I didn't have the best of luck with IMRC's latest release of SD40-2's, I haven't given up on IMRC.

What grabs me is the oportunity to get a sound equiped chassis that should fit any GP7 or 9.

The first batch of roadnames isn't doing much for me. Although they did do TC&W in HO, so maybe they'll do that in N someday.

I must say I have had horrible luck with IM so far, and again I will give them a shot with the GP10s as I am with the SD40-2s but this is not the thread for that.

I think I few IC ICG units will fit in nicely on your layout Allen.....

I concur Bob, not the thread for it.
I just stated what I did, not as a bitch, but for hopes of continued improvement.

Thanks Bob, I almost ponied up a few years ago when someone listed some pretty decent bashed GP10's on ebay, but $250 was still a little too steep for a DC only unit with no headlight...

I have a few IC/ICG units now, but the GP10 with it's chop nose, horst filters and frog eye lights are just too iconic to pass up!

I have been waiting for this. I plan on getting a couple so I can put the chassis’ under my chop nose Atlas GP’s. ESU sound and motor control are superb.

Think IM worked with Atlas for the chassis?

The Atlas chassis works with a chopped nose, but the frame would have to be reworked to hold any decent speaker. I’d be happy if they used the Atlas motor and trucks.

Atlas announced a new GP30/35 with a redesigned chassis for DCC sound (I believe I read the speaker would be in the fuel tank).
It's not a stretch to think they will or are doing the same work with their GP7/9 and might be providing it to IM for their use in the GP10. I think IM and Atlas have the same MSRP so your plan to get the first to market is a good one :-)

    That's what I figured

Yes I did, just tonight, one each of the IC and ICG units. DCC without sound.

While on the subject of IMRC locos.
Has anyone heard whether or not Digitrax, TCS, NCE or any of the other aftermarket producers are planning to make drop in chips for the SD40-2 or even the new GP10?
