Post Weekend Update (17th Nov 2017)

Please update us on the progress you have made on your MRR projects this week (commencing: 17th Nov 2017).

This weekly thread is to post little snippets about your layout/project progress.
This is not be a substitute for your layout build thread, but just a mini update on what you got done for the week.

You can link from your layout build thread to your posts in this thread as a part of a more extensive post there, or visa-versa (post to your build thread and link to that post when contributing to this thread.

Click on a post's #number (right-hand end of the post header) to get the URL to that particular post in your browsers address bar.
Copy and paste this as needed.

So, fellow nSn'ers, what have you been up to this week?

I've been experimenting with improving (??) a bunch of Atlas beer can tankers without using parts from GMM or Plano. I thin down the ladders with a #11, add in some missing railings, and paint any naked plastic, but that's about it. I'm seeing how much can be done for almost-free and about 1 hour per car. Is the improvement enough? A few pictures below contrast my latest quick-n-dirty with earlier efforts using Plano and GMM etchings.

I guess I'm a little more pleased with the results on the darker cars with non-contrasting trim.

My SD-9 project is progressing nicely. Decaling is done. Next... adding details, detail painting and some paint touch up.

    Thanks,

Finishing up this "Fine N-scale Products" kit, which will probably go into the for sale forum when it is done.
