    Default A Holiday Tradition Returns

If visiting Chicago during the Holidays, don't be surprised to see Ol' Saint Nick riding the L.

In a long running tradition, the Holiday L train has returned. Traversing the whole of the L system the Santa Train will visit a lot of the City and a few 'burbs. Santa even has a few photo opportunities planned. The six car train with Santa's Sleigh on a flatcar has a Special Holiday Wrap and festooned in thousands of lights! Because the train is so popular, a second Elves' Workshop Train follows. Also decked out in a wrap and lights, it follows close behind to pick up those that missed Santa's ride.

While most of you don't model the L or any rapid transit system. You could follow the CTA's lead by decking out a flatcar with a miniature sleigh and eight(9) tiny reindeer. A few bottle brush pine trees and maybe some white felt for snow. A little bit of glitter makes it festive. While this is N scale the decorations can be oversized, without penalty!

The flatcar can be accompanied by a couple of passenger cars. A little bit of ribbon can spruce them up temporarily. Check the scrapbooking aisle at the craft store for flat holiday decorations. Museum wax makes a great temporary adhesive that leaves no residue.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ONE AND ALL!
