Haven't spotted this yet so I figured I'd start the ball: decoders.

Due to issues with My Kato F7, I bought this to resolve the problem:

Kato F3 with TCS DCC installed:

The idea is to remove the Western Pacific shell and replace it with my custom painted Shell. That's the theory anyway.

Picked up a Maine Central GP38 and decoder, a few box cars and a bag of metal wheels.
The wheels came from Train Life, super quality and the cost was reasonable.

I have a UR90 and UP5 on the way to replace a couple UP3 throttle panels that drain loconet and have poor connectors. I also have a charger for my 9volt batteries and two snubbers on the way.

Moose had to replace Dremel, and Moose tain't gonna talk about it ... Oh, plus needed a cutter for milling frames ... And while Moose was at it, bought another type of sealer for the layout paint that is hopefully not glossy or satin-finishy...

19 pieces of Peco C80 , wanted a full box , but had to settle for what the LHS had . This should be close to what i need with the 10 i have on hand already . Trying to use only new track on this revision . Tho i do have a bunch salvaged from the tear down too . I went for the LHS over MB Klein for both my cork and track , spent a bit more , but wanted to show them some love

I’m hoping this is the month my Schnabel car kit is ready for me, as well as the BNSF ET44s with sound I have ordered. Otherwise I just need some little parts (weight mostly) for my Jordan Spreader projects.

On the 11th, I'll pick up some items from my favorite hobby shop (150 miles away). Got a new Walthers SW1200 and a set of 5 (actually a 3 pack and 2 singles) Atlas Hart ballast hoppers........and whatever else I come across that I can't live without.

Placed an order last night on MB Klein for several things I have been drooling over for awhile.

These are just some pics from their website of the locomotives.

I have also ordered several of the Woodland Scenics "Just Plug" products.

Inspired by NSkale's lighting work, I thought I would give these a try.

I bought MobileOne's GN SD-7. Needing an Atlas SD-7/9 chassis that does not have the annoying habit of a spinning motor but not a spinning drive shaft to one truck in the other. (Unless someone knows of a permanent fix. I'd appreciate the tip. But l have become a bit leery of Atlas QC re: this particular issue over the years.)

If this doesn't work, I'll buy a newest run SD-7/9. Or maybe a Life-Like unit. I like SD-7/9s too much.

Nothing to be read into the GN livery -- those big SD-7/9s were more common in iron ore country than they were in the Pacific Northwest. But l have been toying with the idea of a spin-off shortline. ....

Waiting for the Train Show on Sat. the 14th. Up Grand Rapids MI. area. Need some flex track, more cork, a few Peco turnouts(4 to 6). Then if I spot something I really like I will get it. My wife said I could spend some money since she did not give me a birthday gift.

So as you may have noticed I am looking for a couple of older free-weight-style Life Like PA units so I can add some V-Line Erie Built shells to them (the V-Line shells + PA unit combo is a compromise since Life Like Erie Builts sell for $150-$200+ for an A-B pair).

Although I need the older model PA units, when I saw this lot that was billed as a "Life Like Powered PA/PB" pair (implies later generation units) I jumped on it since $35-$40 is a good deal for Life Like PA-PB splitframe locos and these are NYC my preferred line.

I sometimes make a very quick decision when I see a listing that seems like a good deal (sometimes before I even look at the pictures carefully).

So this is what I bought, anyone notice anything 'wrong' with the PA/PB units in these pictures:
    FEF.jpg

    20180412_202940 -r.jpg

EDIT: I updated description above to highlight that this was "billed" as a Life Like Powered PA/PB Unit... if that helps...
