Default Athearn N scale F-59phi pain flaws New release

Good afternoon. I've been a member for a long time. This is my first post, I'll keep it short. Please bare with me. I recently purchased a brand new Athearn F59phi Coaster #3001, and #3002. I noticed after inspecting my new diesels a lot of green paint on both side on the panel shells where coaster is stenciled. You cant see the panel line and bolts located above the fuel tank because of to much paint! Has anyone experienced this flaw before? Man, I thought I was through with Athean when I bought the last run of the N scale Bigboy 4014.

Sorry, I cant post photos because I have no privileges at this time.

    Thank you,
    Ed

Can you start a free Imgur account and link the photos from there?

Thank you MetroRed, for your reply. Here are the photos of the F59PHI's paint flaws. Copare therm with the metrolink diesels. What do you think? Do the Coaster diesels have to much green pain applied to the shell?

I don't see anything wrong with it but others may.

Brand new F59PHI's N scale from Athearn. Purchased 6-2018. Check out the Coaster diesel, and tell if there to much paint applied to the green section. Compare with Metrolink diesels.

Kingmeow thank you for your reply. I thought there might have been to much paint applied to the Coaster diesels, because the panel lines look hidden by to much paint. I just wanted others to view the photos to get their opinion. Anyways, it could be me. I'm getting some new glasses this weekend

Yup, paint is really thick. Stripe on the side of the Metrolink are not great, either.

Paint is too thick all over. Even the trucks don't look right. The trucks are better on the white loco 877.

You can embed the photo on the post by coping the "BB Link" on the right side when you click on your photo from the main IMGUR photos menu screen and pasting it directly to your Reply window on this forum. That way the picture will show up in the post. No need to click on the image icon at the top of the Forum post window, the BB code does that automatically.

Here's a pic of the prototype (SDNX 3001), and it happens to be in the same left side view as your picture. There is no skirting over the fuel tank, and both the fuel tank and trucks are colored light grey. In fact the entire loco is grey below the base of the body:

What a big difference! Thank you for posting the photo! Thanks again for the advice on posting photos from Imgur to this site. I test ran metrolink and Coaster, and they run fine. There the DCC sound equip one.

    Take it easy, Ed
