For those who prefer flying into Midway, you can take the Orange Line on the L into the loop, transfer at Clark/Lake to the blue line, and ride the blue line to O'hare or Rosemont.

By the way, what is the organization behind this event? And where would one find direct information?
    Cheers!

If I were going, and wanted to see more of the Chicago area, I would skip the rental car for the entire week and just shuttle back to the airport, rent one for a day, and then return it and get shuttled back to the conference hotel.
Do you know where you read this sir? (The part that it's being held at that hotel)

It's been confirmed from Mr. Ollendorf himself that the convention next year is at the Crowne Plaza.

I am strongly considering attending this as I am only 2 hours away by car or I can take trains all the way there starting from just 40 minutes from my house. Anyway, What can I expect to see if I go?

during the day they have layout tours and other tours to keep the other half happy plus room sales.
Evenings they have the auction one night , first night is a informal get together and the banquet on Saturday night.
Public show on Friday afternoon and Saturday. They normally have the schedule on the website around the first of December
along with all the other info. Don't look for much before then.

I'll only be able to attend one day, so sounds like Friday is the day? Saturday I would pop out to the IRM and hit antique malls for the wife. Should I expect lots of vendors and such? I enjoy bargain hunting. So far I have only been to a couple shows so I am still feeling my way into the hobby.

Friday and Saturday (during the public show) they will have some bargains, and others that are not bargains.

Should be more Vendors next year as more a east coast show. But the Manufactures show up. So look for Kato, Atlas, Micro Trains, Intermountain, and others. I will be there as will in most likelihood Art from Bar Mills and Russ from N scale Architect.
