Layouts

M, P, & N

It's been a while. So long, in fact, that I've changed my modeling location (South Carolina-Indiana-Southern Pewnnsylvania), and I've changed the size as well. Well, now my layout is a planned 6x6 (I'll see what's left for staging) and it is set in 1981 in Southern Pennsylvania on the fictionious Maryland, Pennsylvania, & Northern, a class 1 RR running in Maryland and all the states north of it. Here's the plan:

UPRR - Pueblo Division - Introduction!

Hey everyone, thought I would take a few minutes to introduce everyone to my new layout.  Brand spanking new actually, I just moved into a new place about at the end of May and it only took about two weeks before I fixed enough sprinkler heads and hung enough pictures to turn my full attention to making proper use of my basement.  With gas the way it is, fishing trips are crimped down anyway so might as well stay cool in the basment and fire that miter saw up.

Work continues

This holiday weekend gave me time to work on the layout and start covering the ugly pink color of the foam. As a start I did the assemble the Walton Lumber yard and with a lot of help  from my wife, we set it up on its place in Karolville.  My wife bought some Woodland Scenics ground cover sheet and we glued to the foam, then we placed the 2 buildings and added the details.  Hope to continue with more industries and roads for Karolville in the next couple of weeks.  Keep you posted. AL_Scene_Proj09_16 Not that long ago, in fact it was June 13th, I provided  Update Number 3 on this scenery project for Alligator Lines. Well, it is now finished!

Another fresh plan. a little more dbl. track, and re-did its orienetation. added a four stall engine house, made the yard lead longer, and connected it to the turntable. eliminated roundhouse, added a pocket for the roadswitcher on the wayfrieght, and added some tracks for a car shop.

New layout plan

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.

I'm gouing to be building a dbl. decker layout. tHe two levels aren't connected, however, and only interact once.

I cleaned up the levels. The bottom now has the industrial sidings all pointed the same way. The top has been completly dbl. tracked now. I cleaned up Darkwater (only 4 spurs, 5 industries [one serves a co-op transfer and farm supply house]).

Filling the Tea-tray (well, at least part of it. . .)

It;s amazing, Dear Readers' what a difference a building (or two) makes to a layout - it (IMHO) starts tio give a layout 'personality' - or at least give an indication as to where things might eventually lead. . .

All of which is by way of telling anyone interested (as you are of course Dear Reader's - aren't you (please say yes. . .), that the Waitekereru Tramway (WKT) of the Tickford Valley Railway Co (London) Ltd (TVR), now has two structures in residence at Konake (pronounced Ko nack ee) - a station and a Goods Shed.  Progress indeed.

OBRY'S Foam

Hi again,

After some minor delays, I was able to buy, cut & paint 2-inch pink foam.
I also painted the backdrop - the seams have almost disappeared and will be virtually invisible once the proper lighting is installed.
