With only one vote in, the percentages would add up to 100%...100% divided by 1 is 100%. With only 57 votes in, I would say this topic is FAR from over.

230 car special run; Not worth it?
We could probably get some cars made up through Atlas or Micro Trains also for that matter. I would think time frame as far as actual manufacturing scheduling would be the biggset hold up.
I was just on the Atlas site wondering around at the Special request runs. Didn't look that difficult especially if we could keep it fairly stock. Just a thought.
"Special run" cars have a
"Special run" cars have a minimum quantity of 300 or more units, depending on who you get them from.
Also, depending on who you get them through, dictates the number of road# you get, or you could be up for the minimum per road#... we don't want to be limited to a single road#, as this detracts from those wishing to purchase multiple units.
This has all been looked into, and will be weighed up before placing the order... any way it goes, you're up for half to place the order, and the balance on fulfillment... once the details are finalized, I'll start taking pre-production orders to fund the upfront payment... but the balance of the order has to be funded somehow, and these funds could be out for an extended period, if we don't have the level of interest that was initially indicated.
I haven't been around much
Special Runs
Well Bryan i'm in for three then and just let me know when you need the funds. Well have it here for ya. And as I stated which ever design option is fine with me. ANd from where ever you've checked out is fine.
I'm in for one for sure,

Why multiples?
+1 to the above comment
+1 I don't really care about the number, the proto-police will have a fit with this concept car anyway....
Oh, and I still want at

From a post in a previous thread:
As noted previously, depending on the manufacturer, the number of road#'s you get varies... those buying more than one car will appreciate not having to renumber them, and for some, a lack of variety in road# will limit their purchase quantity...
cost depending I'd buy at
well do we need a run off
well do we need a run off for the three highest polling cars ?? This has been dragging on for a while .... no i don't want to go too fast (we might mess something up)
.... having a time limit is not a bad idea it helps keep the wheel set rolling and yes i am in for at least three maybe 6 depends on final cost....
some thoughts to consider ... so what say you all now that we have some likes and dislikes showing trends...a run-off for the highest three ? or just forge ahead with this poll and say on March 1st the poll is closed and the project goes forth from then??? if we have a run off it needs to be no longer than a month though a fortnight is a good lime period also to finalize the art work etc.
I personally favor the closing for the poll in a fortnight (on 03-01-2008 @ 23:59hrs UTC) and getting the winning art ready and let the companies of Microtrains, Atlas ,and Intermountain Rail Co. bid on our special run. Jmho

well I see your point, ... but consider this
i agree with you siderod... but the bottom line is what drives these companies... if special runs did not add to their bottom line they would not do them ... what i am saying is lets see who likes our money more than anyone else... just my humble opinion and let it get run with no push from us... sometime this decade would be nice ... :)
