I was poking around in Google Earth this morning and stumbled on a series of photos that are pretty cool.

The link is on page 4 of the library, but there are cool pics on both side.

I don't know anything about the old Kaiser RR, just that it moved ore from mine to processing.

Well.... I can see why that's an abandoned line!! Some very interesting pictures there, thanks for sharing!!

Just did a little checking. The railroad owned by Kaiser was really named the Eagle Mountain Railroad. Here is a link to information on it.

I completely missed this a year ago. Kaiser Steel and a US Steel plant were I believe the only two integrated mills west of the Mississippi during WWII. Kaiser had a blast furnace for smelting or reducing the iron ore down, in Fontana CA. Part of the that facility is now the race track where NASCAR has a few events.
