  1. Does anyone ever really finish?

I realize that of course, most people finish projects. As a guy who has spent a lifetime fixing people's houses for them, even I have finished a project or two. So why am I having so much difficulty with this station? It seems like every time I get close to having the end in sight, I change my mind and re-design it, or I want to "think about it" for a few days and move on to something else while I do. The good news there is that I have made decent progress on the city park that will be ...

  2. Trees in the park

Thanks to all who have chosen to click on my blog. I really enjoy writing it, but it wouldn't be much fun if people didn't enjoy reading it as well.

This week I am all about trees. If you've been following these pages, you know that the lighthouse is nearly completed. I'm trying to figure out how to get a 3 volt bulb to blink convincingly. I can make it flash like a police car, but lighthouses have a whole 'nother rhythm. Anyway, I was planning to turn my attention to the main terminal ...

  3. Baby steps in Beaufield

    Hi again nScale!

Progress with the lighthouse scene has been slow. I'm waiting for a delivery from Amazon with some electrical parts that will enable me to light the lighthouse and make it blink. Who am I kidding? There's plenty of other stuff I could be doing but I always seem to go into a lull when a project gets close to completion. It's kinda like I don't want it to end. This lighthouse has tortured me for a few months now, but we've recently come to an understanding. When I ...

  4. Sooo...Anything new in the last six years?

    Hi Everyone!

I guess I'd better do an update if this is going to make any sense at all. My last posts dealt with two things, my layout and my cable access TV show. I did 18 episodes of the show and then summer came, and my involvement with the Cape Cod Baseball League took center stage. For the second season of "Mini-Rails" I had eight or ten people lined up to visit and tour their layouts when our family life took at hit. Fallout included the sale of a piece of rental ...

  5. Brrrr....!!!

It's cold up here in Mass. I know there are folks on here that are even colder, and I also know there are folks who can't seem to get enough of cold weather, but I ain't one of 'em!
Truth is, it has been so cold that even though my layout is inside the house, that room is too cold to work in.

Not that I haven't been busy with the hobby, I have. I've just been busy in a different way. I have been spending a lot of time on my TV show, which has now become Mini Rails. There was ...
