The Board of Directors of the Pinnacle and Western Railway are pleased to announce the appointment of William G. McGhee to the post of Chief Operations Officer.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. McGhee has been diligently working to clear the right of way for the proposed main line trackage. His latest acheivement has been to complete negotiations with all of the land holders along the proposed route regarding the placement of the right away.

Ms. Hepzibah Foxglove (formerly of Salem, Massachussets), who was the last hold out, finally agreed to allow the right-of-way through her property under the condition the railroad route the tracks around her mountain instead of tunneling underneath.

After resurveying the route and realizing that grade conditions were favorable and that the cost of tunneling could be avoided, Mr. McGhee quickly agreed, thus removing that last obstacle to progress.

The Board of Directors is also please to announce that under the leadership of Mr. McGhee, clearing of the grade has begun with progress being made on a daily basis.
