My four new Bents for the extension of the bridge:

Now - how to fit them to the bridge????
I really have no idea about couplers etc but any time I do a conversion I always use MT stuff for reliability. With regards the price difference between MT and Bachmann - "you get what you pay for".
Okay - you guys win, a Curved Trestle it is; HOWEVER, that will be built once I have the new layout down (track wise). Why? Because I will need to know where the Bridge will go and what radius to...
500' - darn, that will be an impressive bridge. Mine only represents something like 90' ... so when you build yours I'll definitely be watching, especially as yours is steel construction.
That's easy for you to say ... BUT, like Moose, I will probably need a curved Trestle more so than a straight trestle as well so building one is very much on the cards :)
The more I look at it,...
Not too bad at all C0wb0y just don't forget to clean off the excess ballast from the insides of your rails ;)
There are a variety of materials that can be used for "scratch building" - wood (basswood, balsa) styrene, card stock being the main materials.
As Spookshow said, Plastruct and Evergreen are...

Thanks gents, and I think it is coming together okay; although, I now wish I had have made it a little longer with a couple of shorter bents at either end. I still might...
Yep - it does appear to be "leaning forward". If this is the quality of Atlas's "Master Line" - imagine what their Trainman line is like

They are in there some where, trust me :) I am using two 2 lengths of 1/16 X 1/16 laminated together for them. Each set will sit...
Thank you Rook, it has come out better than I expected.
Thanks Gordon and I agree with you. The beauty of working with wood for things that were originally built from wood.
Thanks Paul and...

Charles,
I made the spacing 1.5" (about 20') however, I am led to believe it can be anywhere from around 15' to 25'.
Just completed the lateral secondary bracing:

Just needs a coat of "Grey Stain" to fully finish it. In the meantime, the 1/16 X 1/32 wood wont be here till...
Well, it's 3:25 am and I have just finished the lateral bracing, although it still needs a coat of "Grey Stain":

You can possibly get it...
With the water slide decals - have you tried using Micro Sol? If not, get some, it works well to soften and drag the decal into all those little nooks and crannies. It does a great job of "forcing"...
And ... they are dropped from great heights :)
Thank you ... so far so good :)
