Droool! Oh that would be a fun toy!
Heiko, it is sort of comforting to know I am not the only one with 844 issues. It is working well enough just now I can run a train around in the 25mph or less speed range and it doesn't derail much....
Just played that over n over for a few watches. The #1 driver dropped off the rail first, causing the pilot truck to do it's little jump. It is a quick succession thing. After the incidents the other...
To date this 844 is the most finicky loco I have put DCC into. The cab swings a LOT and therefore the wires twixt loco and tender must be absolutely free. Turns out the decoder was putting pressure...
Both. The editted backdrop is a great way to visualize what you think you want to see!
That will be a good system! I also use the holders Paul refferred to, and am liking them. Enjoy!!
Did the machining on the engine frame to relieve the stress on the wiring. That helped a lot. Also, the foam holding the speaker in was causing some binding, so I relocated the speaker aft and the...
Sooo, moose wears a drool catcher while watching steam locomotives work? Is the pay good? How much per gallon?
It's looking good! At least in the pics. Keep after it and you will figure out the details.
Unless 23 has anything to say about it!
Hope you have a trainfully happy bday!!!!
Made time this morning to run a few trains. Yesterday was exhausting. So, this morning, train running was a nice decompression. Here's a few vids, one day I will get an editor and be able to stitch...
Amen and ditto!
The T1 is an impressively built loco!! And a puller! Hopefully your decoder is one of the good ones!
And a special thanks to the generous donor!
One can always tell when a Moose has been at the glue..........
Ran the 4292 last night, without the weights. Worked good, and will be even better with the keep alive caps next time it's in...
Hope you have a train filled bday!!
The 844. Well, it turns out I added a bit much under the stack, so had to mill a bit off the frame to fit it again. Then after replacing those stiff wires, it test ran great! Then I put the boiler on...
Those comics are scarily truthful!
I usually don't use any glue in my mister bottles, for that reason. What I do is spray a light mist, apply thinned glue from an Elmer's bottle, apply scenery stuff, then wet it again with the mist....
Hooboy howdy! This is going to be fun to watch! Of course there will be a lot of photos of the progress, or there would be a self stampeding??
I like the compactness and how you have every thing...
"What gauge is your bus wire?" To answer Nthebasement; I use 14 ga. stranded speaker wire for a buss with telephone wire feeders up to the rails every 1 to 5 feet, depending on what is going on...
The game is escalating! Hold on tight to your wallet AND railroad!! Hooooboy! We're pulling for ya!!
:boxing::head-wall:
Been using HP Chromebooks for years. My first one lasted me for 6 years? It had a lot of internal memory and was perfect for my needs. I am no kind of computer guy, so it's simplicity is a boon. I am...
Have a train filled bday!

Hope you have a trainfully happy bday!!
Looking good! The contrast between the ballast and weeds is great stuff!
