    This is what I've gone with, too. Typical US utility pole is 40' long with at least 6' buried in the ground, so 34' above the ground. Converted to N-scale, that's almost exactly 2.5", and 2" works...

    I was going to say the same thing that Doug said. The later shell attaches to the side of the chassis, while the earlier attaches to the side of the fuel tank area, so that could be part of the issue...
