Wow, it's amazing how 10 years flies by. I'm trying to downsize my fleet. I have more than I need (again).
    18 diesels
    1 steam engine
120 pieces of rolling stock (down from 240). Still mostly covered hoppers.

Hopefully I can get the engine fleet cut in half fairly soon.

Twenty or so coal hoppers, one cab, two covered hoppers, three Geep 38s and one SD-9. Just right.

Then there's some Milwaukee-era stuff, but not counting that.

I have 27 locos that I own, 25 of which are operational with DCC decoders. One has a broken decoder and another is a DC loco that has not yet had its wired decoder installed yet.
I also have about 12 locos owned by an HO scaler friend of mine given to me "on permanent loan" as he doesn't do N scale anymore. About 8 of those are operational DCC.

Well, that depends on who you ask. If you ask the COO then I have something like 5 engines and 5 pieces of rolling stock. If you ask me, then I have lost count BUT I'm sure that most are only being "baby sat" for someone else

That's astoundingly cool. But only four on the layout ? Does that mean 196 needing homes ???
    Thanks, Tom

Expect nothing except the opposite of what you expect, and then expect it to be something other than that ! Then that's about what it will be

But Moose, you gotta understand -- if I could find 1) appropriate 2-8-0s of the appropriate era that are 2) not made in China and/or by Bachmann, I'd consider modeling the Interstate RR circa mid 1950s.

Otherwise, no steam fer me. ...

Unless that Northern Pacific S-4 happens to appear in N scale. That would be a game-changer! AMB makes a kit for those classic NP cabeese too.

    @Paul Schmidt

Moose can do the maths fer that, and all ya need is a Japanese made Kato 2-8-2 and a few mild alterations. Moose could sell ya one of Moose's Kato Mika-, oh, right, never mind...

Ugh! I really didn't want to look but you guys made me!

3 steamers (or which one is Thomas - he's a steamer right?)
    52 diesels
    342 rolling stock

At least that's what my spreadsheet tells me.

Probably my first post in a couple of years. I'd guess I have 12 Leased Locos (plus 3 Auxiliary Fuel Tenders), thirty Alaska RR Locos (12 custom painted), and another dozen ready for paint and or decals. And UP 8500 Turbines (2), Centipedes (2), Propane Turbine (Shapeways), and DD40AXs (2) with Shapeways full bodies. Now all I need is a layout to run them.

No, no, no, Tom. I do run these when I want to just run some trains , and not in a Ops session.

11 diesels, maybe 50 rolling stock. Only 2 of the diesels are DCC ready, and 15 of the cars are recent, the rest are 70s to 80s vintage. Iíll have some buying to look forward to, once I have a track to run them on! Now all the available funds are going into wiring supplies and Tortoises. Iím going to want an airbrush and compressor too.

    5 locos
gs4 and ac12 + ABA of F3s (sorry Moose, needed some diseasels and Black widow covered wagons with Working diaphragms are cool)

42 rolling stock plus full Daylight consist.

mostly because I have 28 of the black MT Overnight box cars, lol.

Hmm...now if only I could find someone who was willing to trade a 16 runner pack of PFE for a 16 pack of TP...

I recently did an access database for insurance purposes....I would highly recommend having coverage for all of your hobby related things. I have 17 engines; 8 of which are DC, 54 freight cars and 17 passenger cars. I only keep one set of each accessible at all times. The rest I keep packed but ready to rotate something out.
