Default I've thought about the same

I've thought about the same thing. I have a long way to go before I get to purchase vehicles. I have decided I will probably just repaint one of the vehicles. You might try that. EricAnaconda, MT

Default I guess it's ok for taxis

I guess it's ok for taxis and police cars, but you don't usually find 2 identical vehicles in a small area.

FWIW, the Mini Metal line of vehicles also sells in pairs and a number of them do have different colors (but a lot are the same).

    Default My theory...if a company

My theory...if a company sold the cars in two-car packs with unlike coloured cars, someone would complain about not being able to buy a pair of black F150's (for example) for his railroad's company trucks...there would be complaints about not being able to get identical vehicles without buying 2 packages of two. Also, I imagine people would complain about the company packaging red and green together, and green and blue together, but not packing red and blue together. Lastly, and this again just a theory...packaging the cars in two-packs of identical cars is a way to save at least some money in production. It means one box insert per colour, for a total of ~4 colours, rather than an insert per combination of colours...~12 combinations.I agree that it is a bit of a pain to have to buy more cars than I can currently use, but i've found a use for them. Sometimes, at shows, I'll trade vehicles with other guys on the layout...just recently, I traded a MiniMetals Impala for an Atlas F150 with load. I don't sell any surplus cars, though, as it's not really worth my effort. They stay in my case for use on my next layout.AR
