Week four since abandoning isopropyl rubbing alcohol in favor of mineral spirits for cleaning wheels. The Slate Fork is humming along, no stalls, stutters or stops.

While working last night on installing a new coupler on one of the Geep 38s, I inspected the wheels to see if any crud might be building up -- nope, clean as a whistle.

I ran a train for the first time in a month in preparation for hosting a layout tour last weekend and everything was fine. Even Mr. Murphy behaved.

I ran my finger a yard down a rail and got a black stripe. Apparently it doesn't matter.
