    Default Retail Spy Cam Option

There have been a number of threads recently discussing spy cams and there usage in the MRR world. So far as I can determine all the cameras discussed have come from either EBay or somewhere in Hong Kong (maybe one and same).

Just in case anyone is interested in a retail camera of this type, I just came across this one while checking out something completely different!

Check the video samples. And yes I realize it is substantially more expensive but it may be a viable option for some!

"Substantially more expensive" is an extreme under-statement! Checking all the details, I do not believe this camera is any different than my $10 model. It even has the same "Health" sticker on the barrel. This seller would appear to be out to make a real killing with those prices. Even though I had to double my investment by purchasing a TF card, at $20 total, it is a true bargain when compared to this one! But, as you say, it is an alternative and, probably, there are more retailers out there with more reasonable prices.
    Dick,

Usually, when all is said and done, there's a lot more said than done!

OK, the price for the camera in the link above is quite excessive! Here are three more retail options that are much, much closer to the eBay/HK price! Although still a little more expensive!

I got my replacement from hong kong, the replacement is defective!!
I carefuly centered the camera in my driveway, and roared out of my
garage in my SUV running over it twice. Case closed

    I FEEL BETTER NOW!!!

Interesting article on train cameras for N-Scale here:

Here's a camera from Walther's, however that costs more than the spy cameras -- hopefully has enough quality to be reliable.

And another for $100 (getting pricier).

Best micro camera I picked up worked instantly out of the box, the camera is in color with sound and the size
of a postage stamp (tiny USA first class stamp), plus a reciever plugs into your tv or you can hook into a dvd
    recorder.
Total cost from Hong Kong with shipping $27.00, equal to the ones sold here for $90.00 USD plus!! from ebay

A link to the source would be nice.
(The voices I hear in my head may not be real, but sometimes they come up with a good idea.)

    Have fun.
