Default Con-Cor - Union Pacific Veranda Gas Turbine and Union Pacific U-50 Diesels

Con-Cor has announced the Advance Reservation for the Union Pacific U50 and the Gas Turbine Locomotives. Expected delivery is late 2011, which probably means 2012.

They are telling me that a Sound system will be an option if you select the appropriate Tender. The locomotives will come standard with DCC Ready.

As much as I'd like a Veranda...I'm afraid to ask how much it'll cost. But I'm glad that the "sound" will be an option. They'll probably garner more sales that way, as I'd imagine the dcc/sound version will be over $400 easily. My guess is the basic Veranda and tender without dcc will list for around $250.

Thanks for posting this...I gotta go check it out.

There was no price posted on their website as usual, but I agree the DCC/Sound version will be over $400.

I have been giving Con-Cor all of the things I have done to my Nscale Con-Cor Gas Turbine and Tender which is now running on DCC and has DCC sound
SP Gas Turbine #5010 & Tender #5011.jpg This is my Southern Pacific Gas Turbine & Tender (Black Widow version) . Yes it is ORIGINAL paint and markings. It looks and sounds great... The turbine sound are incredible as the idle sounds too. My wfe actually likes the authentic sounding SP horn. It has dual headlights, MARS light, directional lights, and a blinking tender light. AND BST OF ALL, it is DCC and DC operable.

So you are supplying Con-Cor with all of the little specifics on your modifications in the hopes they might take them into consideration? If so I would most assuredly give you a , you never know until to you try. That is if I am correct in my assumption?

Is this still going to be released? I got a hold of the DC version for conversion, but I would hate to throw more money into it if it's actually going to be released.

    Thanks,

Would you mind sharing your mods to make them dcc and sound and lights? I have an original still new in the box but have 2 others I'm restoring ,but would love to make them dcc. Thanks and hope you'll make some of us happy with your hard work

Yes I read it back then but it just hit me, and I said I sure could use this on mine. sometimes car accidents have that effect.
