    Default 3Q12 Prototype Photos Thread

Spent two days down south chasing trains, following NS's CNO&TP and CSX's CC Subdivision. Weather was a bit of an issue both days.

Default Biggest piece of Atlas sectional track I've ever seen

Who says the 1:1 railroads don't use sectional track

They are getting ready for some track work next week, according to the crossing closing sign.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! This might be my last railroad picture for a little while, my truck's in the shop. No telling how much that's gonna cost me.

Still have the truck in the shop, it's keeping me from doing any serious railfanning. Did a little bit today, stayed close to home.

Wow! That RJC unit looks like it's fresh from the paint shop (or from the factory)!

RJCC keeps their locomotives very clean, by railroad standards. At least here in KY. I don't think I've ever seen one that looked like it had gone more than a few days without a bath.

I picked up a few pictures to share this morning. Not exactly modern but prototypical none the less. I hope you enjoy!

First up is two shots of the Volkswagen plant here in Chattanooga. I love intermodal and can't resist riding by there every time I go rail fanning:

Next is the only two shots I got of a modern train while I was out. Coincidentally it was while I was at the RR museum getting some steam shots:

I decided to pick up a few shots and try a few things with my camera. I hope these turned out ok:
