Very nice looking rock formations, as a casual geologist it looks quite right.

Your track ends right after the tunnel portal? So you drive all the way to the portal and then - what? Just reverse back?

That's looking very good! I like seeing the ground modeled faithfully as dirt/soil, prior to adding any green stuff. I know you won't have a lot of green, since you're modeling western mountains, but even the desert southwest can have a surprising amount of plant life.

I take a similar approach, sprinkling dirt over my rocks and letting is collect where it naturally wants to. This really sets the rocks into the scene!

    Hi all.

I'm with a new train course should start due to an error in the circumstances where iron was in it.
But a few pics of my new mountain colorado river ,
The first layer plaster there on

And here the gorge with the River

The ravine with a layer of plaster

And here than the first coat of paint on the mountain, and the background done right away

Ger has been very courageous , after some problems with the turnouts ( engines stopping all the time ) after ballasting , and because he wanted the layout somewhat higher, he tore down the whole layout and started again. The new mountain shows that you learn from doing , looks so much better then the first one.
As long as I can model in N-scale, I know I'm not old

That is looking REALLY GOOD! I wish I could carve like that, insted I have to spend countless hours plastering molded rocks into the cloth, hopefully one day I will get good enough to move faster than at a snails pace and be able to pull scenes off like this one! Excellent work my friend! Keep the pics coming!!

That looks great. The station and yard are impressive, but I especially like the mountains. I second everything k0ncept just said about your carving skills. It looks like you are going to have a very interesting layout.

Man, what a place to do some railfanning! That is turning into one sexy scene. Will you by any chance be running some silver fluted passenger cars along that route? Like the California Zephyr perhaps?
