I've added a decent amount to Kentucky. I've still got some to add, but I'm not sharing all my secret places though. I figure TwinDad may want to do the Lexington area, so I've left it blank for now.

I have added a blue bulb at Shone Idaho.

I can not figure out how to enter the descriptive text.

    It is labled 'Placemark 182'.

If someone would be so kind to add the following text, I will be forever greatful:

'Shoshone, Idaho. The Union Pacific transcontinental main line. See the street level view.'
(The voices I hear in my head may not be real, but sometimes they come up with a good idea.)

    Have fun.

Done. I think most of the stuff in western KY that I will add will be related to CSX's Henderson Subdivision. Haven't really railfanned west of there.

I just added some points in the Los Angeles area. Some great Google aerial map views of the UP yard.

I was looking over the map in anticipation of a potential upcoming trip - and there's nothing on there for Florida.

    Anyone have anything to offer????

No help for Florida, but I've added several of my favorite railfan sites in Montana and Colorado, and will add others from my neck of the woods as time permits.

Also, by way of a heads up... there are now enough pins placed that Google has them listed on two "pages" rather than all showing at once. I was convinced my new pins were lost, but they were just on page 2. Make sure to check both pages, if you're looking for somewhere to visit or if you are checking to see if a place you want to add is already listed.

I've added a few (more) locations for Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Not least the Wolsztyn locomotive depot in Poland - the last commercially operating steam in Europe, I believe.
Google has been there with backpack cameras, so you can have a 'Street View' stroll in the depot

added a few points today ... the Hi Line Bridge in Valley City, North Dakota, the Eagle's Nest tunnel of the Montana Jawbone RR and later Milwaukee Road fame (and still later the movie A River Runs Through it) and then also the Northern Pacific now Montana Rail Link's (leased via BNSF) Bozeman Tunnel, also added a point with a link for the Museum of the Rockies which holds a large photographic collection by Ron Nixon who left over 20,000 photographs recording the role railroads played in the development of the northern plains and Rockies.

have to plead complete ignorance I have tried to find the 'edit' mode to change pin colors and am unable to locate that option as it appears on my page so I apologize for adding any confusion to the map

Just added three spots off the top of my head in Ohio. Will add more as I think of them, like abandoned equipment or static displays.

You may need to be logged in to edit. It says edit at the top of the list. Click and you'll enter edit mode.
Select a pin or a list item and in the list, you get a mark to the right of the text. That's where you change the color of the pin.

To change the color of the pin you may need to click on the pin name in the list. Just to the right of the name is a paint can, click on it and you can change the pin color.

This all depends on the version of Google Maps you are running.

Last year, I just happened to find a fairly decent CSX railfan spot along the Suwannee River State Park in Live Oak, Florida when I was on a fishing trip. I will mark it on the map shortly. In fact, here are two photos I took:

Looks like I'll be on Ottawa Ontario a few times in the fall.

Any other additions that could be made? The only one on there (Steam Museum) seems to be closed.
