Here's a few scratch-builds. I've found with scratch-building, it's easier if you have prototype pics to start from. Easier to keep things in scale.

    These are based on prototypes...

    Here's Mickey's Pizza:

In this case using the prototype got me out of the box of using standard windows and got me making a wide short building instead of a tall narrow building.

Also discovered the fun of printing custom decals on decal paper.

    Here's an early A&W drive-in:

This is my Texaco station. Modified from the prototype to fit my corner better.

    Lit up at night:

And this one is my scratch switch tower. May have gone overboard with interior details on this one.

Hmm..really needs a lamp (overboard again):

    ...There we go.

Our club layout needed to have a stockyard operation, so I built one. Everything is scratch built, except the railcar and animals.

These three shots are while project was still "on bench".

I decided the lights were a bit overpowering, so I added a pot to the system and turned them down much lower to be scale acceptable. Also, added sound chips for the cows and another for the pigs that were not installed for this picture.

    Thanks for looking,

That's impressive! Very nice, lamps and all!

Mrs Moose uttered an expletive when she saw your lamp!

Apparently that was her way of agreeing with Moose...

All excellent! The Texaco station needs a man in a nicely pressed green shirt and slacks with red star over the pocket cleaning windows or checking oil while the truck fills with gas. "Anything else, sir? You collect Green Stamps?" Remember when they were called "Service Stations" and not just "Gas Stations," guys?
    Cheers!
