Here's my current work in progress, the Ardent Flour Mill. The building is modeled straight off of a satellite photo I printed to 1:160. I'm trying to build this 12' section of my layout with as close to scale as possible.

What a great start to that building Karl.

Making progress on my river crossing. Phase one is complete. Bridges and trestle are set. First application of ground cover is done. Next- boulders, dead trees and other debris.

Here's a small sample of things I've put together. All scratch built.

This is my Little Tavern hamburger shop. It's a now defunct local burger chain. Kind of like White Castle. (It's missing the back of the roof in this shot so I could get a good photo showing the interior with a brighter light shining into it)

This is my freight depot. Yeah I know it wouldn't be near a turnout. It's a small layout. I have to take some liberties with reality.

IMG_20161227_134402.jpg I put this crate on the loading platform for the holidays... IMG_20161229_112011.jpgIMG_20161224_224757.jpg

This is my TARDIS next to an (at the time) unfinished Delorean time machine complete with Mr Fusion (I like to do movie / TV themed stuff). Note: not that the car is finished I can sit them next to each other without causing major rifts in the space-time continuum. So that's good for safety reasons.

And here is Walter White and Jesse stealing chemicals from my favorite episode of Breaking Bad next to my small wooden bridge

Made a little shotgun shack/jukejoint today out of junkmail, aluminum foil and toothpicks.

It's still a work in progress and I need to weather it, finish detailing it with castings and a few more signs, but here is my scratch-built version of FSM Emporium Seafood. The structure and roof is is done with RSLaser siding and shake shingles, the cornice is made from strip styrene, doors and windows are Grandt-Line, and the ramp is all made from scratch using various stripwood. I custom made the water tank for the roof and made a mold for duplicates, it is painted resin. The billboard is all made from scratch using stripwood and styrene.

Superb modeling, you really nailed this one , look and feel of an FSM kit , thanks for sharing. I was actually disappointed it wasn't a kit , I would have ordered one immediately.

Wow! Some truly amazing and inspirational work in this thread, I only hope I can develop this kind of skill as I progress in the hobby and perhaps show off some scratch building of my own sone day.
