    Default Narrow gauge steam in action

    Here is a link to a series of pictures on railpictures.net of a preserved narrow gauge two truck Heisler in action last fall.

    http://www.railpictures.net/showphot...||||||||||||||

    It is operated by the Sumpter Valley Railroad in some beautiful country out in northeastern Oregon. There is quite a bit more info in the picture captions, the photographer did a good job of documenting things.

    By the way, it was a toss up whether to post this here or under steam in the "Motive Power" section. I figured since it is still operated by a shortline it can go here, but Mods feel free to move it.

    Here's another one by the same photographer. Different line, in a different part of the state. This one is a Shay, and there's a nice writeup on what a Shay is in the picture caption.

    Actually, this one isn't narrow gauge so maybe I should have started a new thread... but the photographer does have some new pics of the narrow gauge locos I posted links to above. I don't have any connection to the photographer, btw, I just think he takes some great pictures.
